Hells Yeah!!!
Yesterday I crossed the finish line of my first half marathon. WHAT UP?!?!? I frikin rock. Kim and I had the plan to run 4 walk 1 run 4 walk 1 then run 3 but we felt so good we ended up running 6 walking 1 and we walked again around mile 10 or 11. It felt amazing crossing that finish line all in one piece. My kids and Bill were there with Kims boyfriend and I heard "MOMMY!!!" as I came up. So cool. It was pissing rain and the wind was fierce but despite all the sneaker squishing we powered through. I was so hungry but I packed a big handful of jelly belly's and that did the trick. I ate about 6 or 7 every few miles. My knee was killing me and it still hurts a bit today but I'm fine. my feet are super sore too. I'm so excited to keep going with this. My next goal is to work on my 5k time. There is one coming up in a month and I want to beat my last time of 31 minutes. Small goal I hope I can do it. Bill and the kids will do it with me as walkers tho. In Oct, Kim and I are heading to Brooklyn to do the Rock N Roll 10k. I will def do the Rock N Roll Half again next year up in Pvd. It would be super cool to do the one in Va Beach. Who knows maybe our schedules will allow it. We'll see. Right now I'm totally whipped and ready for some couch time. Cameron had cheer tonight and she will be cheering for the "Steelers" her coach seems real sweet along with the high school girls who will be helping. Thank God because there are a couple ladies I feared would be her coach. Another thing I can rest easy about is the logistic issue. Cheer has a sign in and out sheet so I can actually drop off Cami!! Even at 4 years old they are willing to take responsibility for her. That is so awesome. I was worried all weekend about how this was going to work out. Now all I have to do is talk to the Fball coaches and hope they understand that I have to leave to pick up Cami and come back. So for now the plan is on Tues and Thursdays I drop off Cam at 510 and sign her in. I leave at 515 to take Mase 10 min away to Flag Fball (he's playing on the "Falcons") and stay with him till 615 at which time i go get Cam and bring her back over till Fball practice ends at 7. PHEW! That is going to be interesting. Poor Lauren has to be dragged all around Griswold. Im going to need a lot of Animal Crackers for her.
