So hopefully no more lifestyle altering events will happen for the rest of the year and we can get back to normal around here. After all was said and done, I think we dropped about 1500 on this hurricane. Generator, gas, canned food, paper plates, etc. Crazy!! I did the math to see how much we had left till next payday and its peanuts. Oh well, I gotta say I'd rather just hang back with a few dollars in my pocket knowing that our house and my family are safe and still standing. That is all that matters. We are so lucky nothing serious happened to us. Credit cards can be payed off but rebuilding a house or serious injury arent so easy to come back from. After all the lights came back on Saturday night I was so relieved that it was all over. (Then I looked at the credit card statement and went in to shock, lol) So this week its back to school and back to life. I'm relieved and excited to get this family back on track. We will create a new chore chart for the kids so they can start earning their keep around here. I set it aside for the summer so we could just relax. Mase is bigger now so he can handle a bit more responsibility like helping unload the dishwasher, doing his own laundry, and feeding the cat. (the cats bowl is on top of the washer so he couldnt reach it before.) Cami is getting good at doing chores too, she can fold a mean load of laundry, sometimes I think she is better at it than mase! The kids had thier first games yesterday and did amazing jobs! I was so proud of them. Mase was a machine on that field...with a little more practice, he will be a great football player. He's so strong and fast but he's not really sure how to use his strength and speed yet. He'll get it tho...Cami came out of her shell cheerleading last night. Everytime I ask her to show me a cheer she clams up so I wasnt sure what to expect. But she was awesome! She's the youngest on the squad. Today is Labor day, and I will be laboring around here for sure. The floors are gross and I got 3 loads of laundry to do. Plus all the other crap that comes up in an average day. So far the first two hours of this day have been relaxing. I can sit here and type and drink coffee while the kids get their last day to rot in front of the tv. I dont care. They are going to be so busy from tmrw till June they can do what they want today.
